Other People’s Kids is the dream of Dr. Harvey Chiles. After 40 years as a public school educator and administrator, his dream has come true. Harvey has taught children all over the world, including the United States, China, and the Philippines. He has always know that working with students has been his calling.
OPK was formed and registered with the State of Illinois , and has been deemed a Not-For-Profit 501(c)3 Private Foundation with the Internal Revenue Service within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code Section 509(a). We are permitted to receive tax-deductible donations under IRC Section 170. We are also permitted to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.

Harvey M. Chiles, Ed.D.
President
Harvey Chiles has more degrees than a thermometer and has had more careers than a temp service. A lifelong student, he holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in music and conducting from Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts, a graduate certificate in school administration from Indiana University (Bloomington, Indiana), and a doctorate in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida).
Along the way, Dr. Chiles taught public school music, became a dean of boys, director of special education, assistant principal, and principal of urban and rural high schools. He served as the Director of Clinical Experiences and associate professor at UM-St. Louis and was the founding director of the education department at Southwestern Illinois College. Dr. Chiles ended his administrative career as the Headmaster of Noblesse International School, Angeles City, Philippines.
Harvey Chiles is a visionary. A futurist who believes that the only way forward in education and life is through innovation and experimentation.
Christine Simone
Secretary-Treasurer
Ms. Simone attended Youngstown State University where she studied Office Technology and Information Technology. She also attended Indiana Business College, where she studied Office Administration.
In 2023, Christine received her AAB in Accounting Technology from The University of Cincinnati. Currently she is studying to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Technical and Applied Studies, also from The University of Cincinnati. She should be finished in 2026.
Christine is a lifelong Admin. She began working for a small industrial business more than 39 years ago and remains there today. In addition to managing the finances, she does all the accounting and bookkeeping. As a passion, Christine has taught herself website design and builds websites for clients, and promotes them via social media marketing.
She achieved the Certified Administrative Professional designation, with a specialty in organizational management, from the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
Christine loves to work and loves to be busy. More than anything, she loves to help people.
